Age Requirement
Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on the 31st December of the year of admission to the course. No relaxation of the minimum age limit shall be made on any account.
Eligibility for Admission
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology is only eligible for admission to the BDS course. Furthermore, only those candidates who secure 50% marks in the medical entrance examination (paper I and II taken together) will be considered for admission into BDS courses. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/SEBC will be considered for admission to these courses only if they have scored a minimum of 40% marks in the medical entrance examination (paper I and II taken together).
Guidelines of the State Admission Committee
The State Admission Committee, Kerala has unanimously decided that the management of all the Private Unaided Dental Institutions may be allowed to fill up 50% of the total intake, from amongst the rank holders Entrance examination conducted by the State Govt. The 35% of the total intake of the Private Unaided Dental Institutions may be filled up through the rank list of Management Entrance Examination conducted by private college management association under the supervision of State appointed committee. The 15% seats meant for NRIs shall be filled up from amongst NRIs and their children/wards as per directions of the Apex Court in PA Inamdar case, on merit in fair and transparent manner by giving Public Notice in leading national newspapers with wide circulation.

Eligibility for Admission
A candidate for admission to the MDS course must have a degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) from a Dental College and University recognized by the Dental Council of India(DCI), New Delhi and Kerala University of Health Sciences(KUHS),Thrissur.
An Applicant should have passed the BDS degree from any one of the Universities in Kerala or possess a BDS Degree duly recognized by the Dental Council of India from a Dental College duly recognised by the Government of India under the Dentists Act, 1948 and who has obtained provisional or permanent registration from any of the State Dental Councils after passing the final BDS examination as equivalent there to with eligibility for full Registration in Kerala State Dental Council in respect of all courses.
Guidelines for selection of Candidates
Selection of students to the merit and management quota in Self Financing Institutions will be strictly based on the rules framed by the Govt. of Kerala and KUHS. The number of seats shall be as per the provisions contained in the notification of the DCI against each affiliated institutionThe course will be deemed to have commenced on 1st June as decided by KUHS or DCI. This date will be considered as the date of joining in the Postgraduate register maintained in the University.
