The S R Educational & Charitable Trust was established in 2004 April with the avowed object of providing highest service by the spread of knowledge. The Trust aims towards providing quality education by creation of a centre of academic excellence for promoting studies in kerala , and also aims to serve society by providing better health care facilities as well.
Sri Sankara Dental College was established under the aegis of The S R Educational and Charitable trust to prepare students for a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery. The first academic session commenced in 2005-06. The Dental College & Hospital are committed to providing state of the art facilities & health care to the community of this region.
Sri Sankara Dental College was established under the aegis of The S R Educational and Charitable trust to prepare students for Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery (BDS). The S.R. Educational and Charitable Trust is a public Charitable Trust formed on 25.03.2002 with the main objectives of establishing dental, medical, engineering colleges and other educational institutions, hospitals, training centres, counselling centres and all other facilities as are calculated to be of use to the public at large. The Trust was founded in the year 2002 by Late, Sri S Ragavan, who was an eminent and accomplished personality hailing from Varkala. He enjoyed commendable social reputation as a philanthropist and social reformer.
He was the Chairman of SN College, Varkala for 35 years, an Executive Committee member of SN Mission Hospital for 50 years and also a very successful businessman. The expertise and quest for furthering excellence in professional Health care education persuaded him to start the dental college & hospital. The sole aim was to impart quality dental education and to provide good health and well being to all sections of the society.
Consequent to the sad demise of the Founder Chairman, Late Sri S Raghavan on March 1 2007, the trust was reconstituted with Mr. R.Shaji as the Chairman. He is associated with the college from its inception, as a Trust Member. He is supported by his wife Mrs. Sreedevi and daughter Mrs Shilpa Shivkumar, MBA Trust members. Dr. Shivkumar Alle Mariyappa, Director – CEO, Cardiothoracic Surgeon worked & Graduated in USA & UK his aim is International Standard health care to Indian population.
