Periodontology, also known as periodontics,is a specialized dentistry field focusing on the health of the tissues supporting your teeth. This includes your gums, jawbone, the root surface covering (cementum), and the connective tissue that anchors teeth. Periodontists are dentists with advanced training who diagnose, treat, and prevent gum disease, the most common chronic inflammation in the mouth. They play a crucial role in maintaining the health of the foundation that keeps your smile strong.

Implantology is a specialized branch of dentistry focused on replacing missing teeth with dental implants. These implants are essentially small, screw-like posts surgically placed in the jawbone to act as artificial tooth roots. Once integrated with the jawbone, implants provide a strong foundation for attaching crowns, bridges, or dentures.

This field plays a crucial role in:

  • Restoring a patient's smile and appearance
  • Improving chewing and speaking abilities
  • Enhancing overall oral health and function by preventing jawbone deterioration that can occur with missing teeth.

Periodontics offers a promising career path for dentists passionate about oral health's foundation. High demand for skilled periodontists translates to job security and strong earning potential. You'll refine your skills in advanced procedures, directly impacting patients' long-term well-being. This specialty offers diverse practice options – private practice, collaboration with specialists, or even research – allowing you to tailor your path and make a lasting impact. For those seeking further educational opportunities, the field also encourages involvement in teaching or research advancements.

The Prosthodontics lab is the heart where theory transforms into masterful creations. Cutting-edge technology takes center stage with digital scanners capturing precise patient impressions for 3D-printed models. These models become the foundation for designing prosthetics using advanced CAD software. Milling machines then bring your designs to life, crafting crowns, bridges, and dentures with exceptional precision. A comprehensive material library empowers you to choose the perfect materials for each restoration, considering aesthetics and functionality. Ample, well-equipped workstations provide dedicated spaces to hone your technical skills, from sculpting with wax to meticulously polishing restorations. But the magic truly lies in the collaborative spirit. Here, you'll work alongside experienced technicians, sharing knowledge and learning from each other. This teamwork ensures seamless communication, guaranteeing not only a perfect fit but also exceeding patient expectations. The Prosthodontics lab is where technology meets artistry, transforming your vision into life-changing dental prosthetics.
