BDS - BACHELOR OF DENTAL SURGERY

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program is your gateway to a fulfilling career in oral healthcare. This rigorous five-year undergraduate program equips you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to become a licensed dentist. Through a combination of classroom lectures, hands-on laboratory work, and supervised clinical rotations, you'll gain expertise in diagnosing and treating oral health problems, performing dental procedures, and educating patients on preventive care. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared to launch your rewarding career in a variety of settings, including private practices, public health clinics, hospitals, and research institutions.

Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on the 31st December of the year of admission to the course. No relaxation of the minimum age limit shall be made on any account.

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognized equivalent thereto with 50% marks in Biology / Biotechnology seperately and 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Biotechnology put together, are eligible.

Candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and the biology qualifying exam. For the reserved category, the minimum marks required are  40% Candidates should have qualified for the NEET Exam with the required cutoff marks.

The State Admission Committee, Kerala has unanimously decided that the management of all the Private Unaided Dental Institutions may be allowed to fill up 85% of the total intake, from amongst the rank holders Entrance examination conducted by the State Govt, and the 15% seats meant for NRIs shall be filled up from amongst the rank holders Entrance examination conducted by the State Govt.

MDS - MASTER OF DENTAL SURGERY

The Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) program is your springboard to becoming a highly sought-after specialist. 1.The applicant must be an Indian national/Person of Indian Origin.
2.Possessing a BDS degree from an approved Dental college and duly awarded by any one of the Universities in Kerala or duly recognized by the Government of o India as equivalent thereto under the Indian Dentists Act,1948 and who has obtained registration from the Kerala state Dental council after passing the final BDS examination or its equivalent there to with eligibility for full Registration in Kerala state Dental council in all respects and has completed one year (12 months) compulsory. Rotating internship in an approved /recognized Dental College only shall eligible

The Candidates seeking admission to post Graduate in Dental Surgery courses in the State of Kerala shall to qualify the Neet MDS conducted by the National Board of Examination, New Delhi. In order to be eligible for admission in MDS courses candidate to obtain a minimum of the 50 % percentile in the Neet MDS.The candidates belonging to SC,ST,,SEBC, SC-PD/ST-PD/SEBC-PD categories shall be obtain minimum 40%, General Categories shall be obtain minimum 45 % and Service Quota candidates to obtain a minimum marks at 50% in the  Neet MDS.

Selection of students to the merit and management quota in Self Financing Institutions will be strictly based on the rules framed by the Govt. of Kerala and KUHS. The number of seats shall be as per the provisions contained in the notification of the DCI against each affiliated institutionThe course will be deemed to have commenced on 1st June as decided by KUHS or DCI. This date will be considered as the date of joining in the Postgraduate register maintained in the University.
